Couples,

In the first six verses of chapter 5, James is concerned about the selfishness of the rich.  He advises them to "weep & howl" because of how they acquired their wealth, how they were using it, and the consequences of misusing riches.

We, as Christians, must be faithful to pay our bills including any laborers.  Remember all belongs to God; thus, we must be faithful to use what He gives us for good of others and the glory of God. (1 Corinthians 4:2).  Let's not waste the precious opportunities God gives us to do good in these last days.  Also, Paul reminds us in 1 Timothy 6:17 that riches are uncertain.  Be sure you are storing up treasures in heaven, "for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."  (Matt. 6:20-21)

What you keep, you will LOSE.  However, what you give to God, you will keep and He will add interest to it.

Verse of the Week:  "One who is gracious to a poor man lends to the Lord, and He will repay him for his good deed."  Proverbs 19:17
