Couples,
This week we discussed different types of faith in which James speaks about in James 2:14-26.
According to these
verses, there are three kinds of faith. First, there is dead faith which is only an intellectual experience.
Those with dead faith substitute words for deeds. Their walk doesn't measure up to their talk. The second type of faith
is the demonic faith. Demons have an intellectual & emotional faith. They believe in existence of God, in the deity
of Christ, in the existence of a place of punishment, and that Jesus Christ is the Judge. Dynamic faith is the true saving faith.
It is powerful and results in a changed life. Dynamic faith involves the mind (intellect), heart (emotions), and the will.
It leads to action/works. James gives Abraham and Rahab as examples of people with dynamic faith.
It is important for each
professing Christian to examine their own hearts and lives to be sure they possess dynamic faith. A mature Christian practices
the truth. He has a changed life and begins working for God.
Verse of the Week: "For just as the body without
the spirit is dead, so also faith without works
is dead." James 2:26
