Light Fixtures

Having finished the outside structure of our home, we find ourselves now taking a look inside at the light fixtures.  In your structural home you have light in the middle of the room which illuminates the entire room.  Jesus tells us He is the Light of the world and the Light of Life.(Jn 8:12)  In John 1:5, we read how Jesus is the True Light.  Those in darkness do not understand THE Light and prefer the darkness over light because the Light will expose the sin.  This is like you entering a dark room and turning on the light.  You can SEE!  Jesus - THE LIGHT - gives life to your marriage.  He must be placed in the CENTER of the room where everyone can see Him.  If there is any darkness (sin) that is trying to hide, it will be exposed by THE Light. (Eph. 5:11-17)  Remember, your doors and windows may be bolted, but in the 21st century, technology (TV, radios, Ipods, MP3s, internet, blackberries, DVDs, etc.) has given Satan the ability to get in your otherwise world-locked-down home.  If Jesus is in the CENTER of every room of your home,  He will expose any darkness.  Also, darkness cannot overcome the Light.(Jn 1:5)  Thus,  if you find your marriage in darkness, let JESUS shine -darkness has no chance to win when THE LIGHT is allowed to shine.  Lastly, Jesus commands us to 'let our light shine before men."(Matt. 5:14-16)  Can our children, friends, extended family, and community see Jesus shining through us?  In the restaurant, grocery store, or other public places, do you find that your marriage is shining?  This world desperately needs to see THE LIGHT - Jesus - shining through you and your marriage. Do as Joshua did in front of a wavering people:  "... as for me and my house we will serve the Lord." (Joshua 24:15b)
